The B.A.'s back

If you're wondering what a B.A. is, refer to my earlier post. And don't feel bad if you're clueless; I had to ask what it meant too...

David, our household's resident B.A., has reaffirmed his B.A.-ishness this week with the second installment of his tribute tattoo (for the five-year anniversary of earning his purple heart in Iraq). He had three more hours of work done and hopes to complete the full-back piece in one, maybe two, more sessions.

Here's what the tattoo looked like in April after his first, three-hour session:



As you can see, he's got a scary-looking skull tattoo in the upper-left corner of his back (one I could live without), which is now covered with curling strands of smoke:



Next session, he hopes to finish the shading and smoke on the right side of the piece. After that he'll add a cracked and battered purple heart in the eagle's talons and elements of the Marine Corp logo in the lower quadrants of his back. Even a non-tatted gal like myself can appreciate this piece. Way cool.
