Saturday brought a double round of "Happy Birthday," covering not two but three adorable mini people's happy days.
Our first stop was the Stapleton house to ring in Cassie's second birthday and her cousin Hannah's fifth birthday. At a gathering of Replogles and Stapletons and their friends and family, you can always be assured that numerous giddy children will be dancing and toddling around, and that memories of Otterbein days gone by will reverbirate through the room. Both were true yesterday.
And then it was on to party No. 2—for Mason! What should have been a fabulous outdoor affair in a very nice park turned out to be a soggy celebration. It rained non-stop Saturday, so the party guests huddled under the protection of the picnic shelter. The kids, however, could have cared less. They were delighted with the rain, and had they been given the chance to really let loose, I'm thinking we would have a half-dozen drenched, muddy children on our hands.
Mady helps her little brother open his presents.
This gun was a real winner! All the boys wanted a turn, including Noah.
What kind of delinquent parents would let their kid get absolutely soaked? We would! Noah was in heaven, splashing in puddles, standing under the gutters, slipping all over. This was his kind of party.
More birthdays to come next week, but this time we won't be traveling. Whew!

WOW! Party animals! You go to birthday parties like we play baseball games.
It was good to see you guys. I'm so glad you could make it. I hope you enjoyed yourselves as much as the kids did. :)
