David's mom discovered last month that turning 50 isn't so bad. She insists it's the fact that her son turned 30 this year that had her feeling less than youthful.
But, we couldn't possibly let this occasion pass without a to-do. Originally, the game plan was to fete Emily at a restaurant or hall or something that saved her the hassle of hosting a party.
Rumor has it she decided that a home shindig was more her speed, but I was relying on this intel from my husband and my father-in-law. You always hope men are seeing through to a woman's true intentions, but you never know. (David: note that if I ever tell you we just need to have a little hoorah at our house, it means shower me with a fabulous party and lots of presents... just sayin'.)
After all that round and round, the party turned out great. It was laid-back, included my favorite cheddar ranch macaroni salad, and thoroughly exhausted Noah. Perfect!

Grandma Frazier turns 49... again.
Emily, Grandma Barb & Aunt Evelyn regaled me with stories all afternoon.
Uncle PJ's back from Florida, and stole a chance to hang out with Noah.
Grandma F. & her favorite little dude.
Phil gives Noah the tickle treatment.
